Developing morphemic awareness gives 6th grade students the ability to break down multi-syllabic words and understand their meaning when context clues are unavailable. The Morpheme Wall in our classroom displays prefix, suffix and root word cards to be used during station time as an inquiry activity.
Students answer Daily World Geography questions displayed on our class interactive white board. Students submit correct answers on tickets into our Daily World Geography Bowl. At the end of each week, names of five Geography Bowl winners are drawn for a small prize.
